As Marketing and Communications Manager at Stand for Children Arizona, Aten led the organization’s day-to-day marketing and communications, overseeing content, digital strategy, and messaging across platforms. The role balanced strategy and hands-on execution, spanning social and video, email, PR, and on-the-ground advocacy.

Aten built and managed digital and email programs, including audience segmentation, testing, and donor communications, while handling daily content creation for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social channels. He regularly filmed, edited, and produced video content used to educate supporters, mobilize advocates, and support fundraising efforts. He also maintained media relationships, pitched stories, and supported earned coverage tied to education policy and community impact.

One of Aten’s largest projects was leading marketing and communications for the organization’s first-ever statewide fundraiser, the Latino Student Success Luncheon. The event raised $100,000 in its first year and awarded college grants to high-achieving Latino students across Arizona. Aten owned the full communications process, from donor messaging and student interviews to video production, including preparing students and high-profile supporters for interviews and fundraising content.

Beyond fundraising, Aten supported education advocacy at the Arizona State Capitol and helped align local and national messaging around key policy priorities. He also documented community events, reading day launches, and grassroots efforts, capturing stories directly from students, families, and educators. The role strengthened his approach to people-first storytelling, coalition messaging, and mission-driven communications.
